Gotta love back to school bugs… has anyone else been hit with crud yet??! My son developed a cough on Monday that sounded pretty bad. It was the continuous barking type cough that was triggered even by talking. It was definitely time to pull out the big guns and tackle this problem! When I brought him home from school I gave him a symphony of the cells treatment on his back for respiratory concerns. This is a very precise and methodic way of applying doTERRA’s essential oils in a specific way in a specific order to allow the body to respond and accept the oils for the needed results. Even after one application his coughing had greatly diminished but I repeated the same technique again before bed. The next day when I picked him up from school… zero cough!

My goals have been to replace as many toxic cleaning products as I can in my house with natural / non toxic options. You may think that dishwasher tabs are not very toxic and this might be true but they are still depositing chemicals onto your plates and other eating utensils, which you will ingest. You can easily make your own non toxic dishwasher tabs using baking soda, citric acid and essential oils! When you make this recipe, the ingredients will expand so when you place them in the silicon molds, make sure you place something heavy on top of the mold so that it prevents the ingredients from expanding.

Do you make your own cleaning products at home? Since my twins were infants I have used non toxic cleaning products in my home to keep their environment natural and healthy as much as possible. I found an article today that truly shocked me about the harm that cleaning products can do to our bodies. I knew that they were toxic to us but the article revealed a study that showed it to have equal damage to our lungs as smoking cigarettes!

Cleaning as little as 1X/ week over the long term caused lung damage!

Cleaning for a living for 20 years = lung damage on par with smoking a pack a day for 10-20 years!

Toxic cleaners cause increased risk of rhinitis after exposure. .

Spray cleaners, Chlorine bleach and other disinfectants can trigger asthma!

My kids are starting kindergarten next week! And I am very focused on everything back to school! We have already started with a better diet, juicing and of course essential oils to help support a strong and healthy immune system for when their bodies are overwhelmed with all the new bugs! Eek!

So this week I am making up some alcohol free hand sanitizing sprays that they can bring to school with them to spray their hands and their desk at school! Btw – besides all the new bugs, is anyone else so excited for their kids to go back to school!?

Here is the recipe!

15 drops Wild Orange

5 drops Cinnamon

5 drops Clove

3 drops Eucalyptus

2 drops Rosemary

8oz Aloe Vera Juice

1/2 tsp witch hazel

2 Teaspoons Fractionated coconut oil

Shake and Spray!
